Government Vice President and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, prof. dr Zorana Mihajlović and EU Commissioner for Transport, Violeta Bulc, have visited Directorate for Inland Waterways on 06 September 2016, where they discussed about ongoing and new projects in the field of water transport.
Bulc i Mihajlović ocenili su da ova oblast ima
veliki potencijal za razvoj, posebno na reci Dunav i istakli da se
unapređenjem infrastrukture stvaraju uslovi za povećanje obima robnog transporta srpskim rekama.
Mihajlović thanked to Bulc on financial support which European Union provides to Republic of Serbia for improving infrastructure and implementation of modern information technologies in the field of water transport.
Bulc and Mihajlović have estimated that this area has a great potential for development, especially on the Danube River and stressed that with improving of infrastructure creates conditions for increase of the freight transport volume on Serbian rivers. During the visit,
System of River Information Services (RIS) in Republic of Serbia has been represented to Commissioner Bulc, which integrates telecommunications and information technology for support in inland navigation and its connection with other modes of transport.
