Projected river training works within the project „River Training and Dredging Works on critical sectors on the Danube River“ have started at the sector Futog on August 30th, 2018.The purpose of the Project is improvement of navigation conditions on the Danube River in accordance with the national policy and strategy provisions and with respect of the Danube Commission Recommendations and EU transport system development plans in order to ensure fast, safe, reliable and environmentally friendly transportation, smooth flow and mobility of people.
The Scope of this Project is to execute river training structures and dredging works at a total of six (6) critical sectors along the Danube River in Serbia, from km 1200+000 to km 1285+000.
River training structures consist of: 1 detached groyne, 4 bottom sills and 3 chevrons. Dredging works will be executed at 5 critical sectors.
According to the adopted Program of Works, the river training works are first carried out in all planned sectors, after which the Contractor will start with the execution of the dredging works. The works were started at the critical sector Futog, where 1 detached groyne and 1 chevron were designed.
The Directorate for Inland Waterways has published the updated layout and the ENC cell of the critical sector Futog, which show the construction zone, as well as the adjusted marking system, approved by the competent institutions and established by the Contractor.
