The Directorate for Inland Waterways has published new Electronic Navigational Charts (ENC) for the Danube River in Republic of Serbia in Inland ECDIS standard 2.3, in accordance with the obligation defined by Law on navigation and ports on inland waters (Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia, No. 73/2010, 121/2012, 18/2015, 96/2015 (other Law), 92/2016, 104/2016 (other Law), 113/2017 (other Law), 41/2018) and Rulebook on River Information Services (Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia, No. 63/15).
New Electronic Navigational Charts contain up-to -date information on the fairway, waterway marking system, contour lines for 3.5 m, 3.0 m, 2.5 m, 2.3 m, 2.0 m and 1.5 m depth referred to the low navigational level (with information on hydrographic survey dates), marks for critical sectors for navigation – sections of the river where in periods of low water the corresponding fairway dimensions necessary for safe navigation are not fulfilled, distance marks on 200 m on fairway axis, cross-sections on 200 m, positions of sunken vessels in or near fairway or proclaimed berths, gauging stations, up-to-date information on bridges (with information on available vertical clearance relative to the high navigation level), berths, winter harbors, ferry routes, electric power transmissions and other objects of importance for the safety of navigation, and other information relevant for inland navigation.
The most important changes in the third edition of the Chart are information on available depth with reference to low navigational level, based on the results of the hydrographic survey performed in 2020, updated waterway marking system, as well as updated information on gauging stations, berths, winter harbors and bridges.
